Volunteers and volunteerism are essential in G&S work for public good. In the past five years, a cumulative number of 2,388 volunteers contributed 311,368 working hours, or 38,921 working days, to G&S projects. In gratitude of their commitment, in November 2013, on G&S’s fifth anniversary, the Foundation awarded eight volunteers "G&S's Fifth Anniversary Volunteers". The eight volunteers are: Mr. Sen Du, Ms. Lei Liu, Ms. Danxi Shen, Mr. Li Ren, Mr. Yao Chen, Mr. Guosheng Huang, Ms, Qiaoting Zhao and Ms. Mulan Xian.
